The name of Christ is in our name because we recognize that the church does not belong to us... it is Christ's alone. And only through Jesus Christ can we bring worship to God or serve Him in any way. Therefore, we who have been baptized into Christ have the great privilege and responsibility of offering worship to God the Father through Him. We rely on Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, we eagerly hear Him speak to us through His Word as it is preached, and we enjoy communion with Him in the Lord's Supper. This is why the Scriptures tell us that we must not neglect the assembly of the church... to neglect the church is to neglect Christ Himself! NEXT
